MODERN BAZAAR, NEW FRIENDS COLONY COMMUNITY CENTER MARKET, NEW DELHI

Modern Bazaar, a supermarket catering to the upmarket clientile, was designed with an emphasis of using wood to create a sense of movement and dyanimism in the flow of spaces in a supermarket. The store was designed with tight spaces which needed to accommodate a bakery, meat and fish section and premium groceries, which needed to be showcased in special display sections. The double height space was emphasized with vertical wooden members which were back lit with graphic artwork, creating a sense of drama and bringing volume into the space.
